Reveal a Brighter, More Confident Smile

Teeth naturally darken over time - whether due to age, dietary habits, or tobacco use, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with stains or dullness. At View Dental, we offer safe, effective teeth whitening solutions designed to restore brilliance and boost confidence.

Why do Teeth Darken

The natural shade of teeth typically falls within a range of greyish-yellow tones. Over time, teeth may darken due to:

  • Age-related enamel thinning

  • Surface stains from coffee, tea, wine, or smoking

  • Certain medications or trauma

  • Natural discoloration from internal causes

Whitening Options: What You Should Know

Surface Whiteners

These are usually found in whitening toothpastes and gums and contain gentle abrasives to help remove surface-level stains. While safe, their results are often subtle, short-lived, and best paired with a professional cleaning.

Bleaching Treatments

Peroxide-based bleaching treatments can lighten the actual colour of the tooth structure. These treatments are more effective and longer lasting; however not all discoloration responds equally to bleaching.

This why it’s important to consult with your dentist before starting any whitening treatment, especially if you have:

  • Fillings or crowns

  • Root canal-treated teeth

  • Naturally dark anterior teeth

Your dentist will help determine which whitening method is right for you. Don’t hesitate to ask your Dental Specialist any questions you may have!

Two Types of Professional Bleaching

  • Vital Bleaching: For “living” teeth discoloured by food, drink, smoking, or age.

  • Non-Vital Bleaching: For teeth that have undergone root canal treatment and darkened from the inside. This technique whitens from the inside out.
